The game’s Kickstarter ended on June 23, 2016, and raised over $220k for the project, which started on May 24, 2016 with a goal of $55k.
In Saurian, players choose to play as one of four dinosaurs, and advance through different stages of life from the point of hatchling to adulthood. Players can play as the Dakotaraptor, Pachycephalosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, or Triceratops. Each dinosaur has their own skills which players will need to master to survive. The developers have done rigorous paleontological research to make sure that the game is accurate and educational.
The project has reached their stretch goals, so the devs will add a variety of features, such as multiplayer capability, the ability to customize your dinosaur, VR support, and more. The game will also get a Mac and Linux version.
